O presidente do Conselho Nacional de Justiça (CNJ), ministro Luiz Fux, pediu hoje (20), durante evento organizado pelo órgão pelo Dia da Consciência Negra, um minuto de silêncio em homenagem ao homem negro que foi espancado até a morte por seguranças no estacionamento de um supermercado em Porto Alegre.

O crime ocorreu na noite de ontem (19), em um supermercado Carrefour da zona norte da capital gaúcha. A vítima foi identificada como João Alberto Silveira Freitas, de 40 anos. Ele teria se desentendido com a caixa do estabelecimento, sendo depois conduzido pelo segurança da loja até o estacionamento, onde começaram as agressões.

“Independentemente de versões, o que nos deve preocupar é a violência exacerbada. Toda violência é desmedida e deve ser banida da nossa sociedade. Mas esse é um triste episódio, exatamente no momento em que nós comemoramos o Dia Nacional da Consciência Negra”, disse Fux sobre o crime. “Esse minuto de silêncio é um dever de todo brasileiro”, acrescentou em seguida.Nesta sexta-feira, o CNJ firmou uma parceria de combate à discriminação no Judiciário com a Faculdade Zumbi dos Palmares, instituição de ensino de São Paulo voltada para a qualificação e inclusão de jovens negros, criada pelo advogado José Vicente, fundador da organização não governamental (ONG) Afrobras.

“Faz parte do nosso sonho o dia em que todos poderão andar livremente pelo nosso país independentemente da sua raça ou da sua cor de pele, o dia em que nosso Estado Democrático de Direito vai permitir que nós de fato sejamos cidadãos de primeira classe, e não sejamos submetidos a essa brutalidade da cena social de todos os dias”, disse Vicente durante a solenidade. “Queremos render nossas condolências a essa família destroçada.”

Fux, que lembrou ter recebido em 2015 o título de “negro honorário”, concedido pela ONG Educafro, havia dito mais cedo, em um congresso sobre registro civil, que o “Brasil foi a sociedade escravocrata mais longa de todo o mundo” e que, por isso, deve-se lembrar cotidianamente disso para ter a “inclusão social como resgate histórico”.

Outros ministros do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), como Gilmar Mendes e Alexandre de Moraes, também comentaram o episódio em Porto Alegre, que classificaram de “bárbaro”. Sem citar o crime, o ministro Luís Roberto Barroso, que é também presidente do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), disse nesta sexta-feira que o país “tem o dever de reparar a chaga moral a escravidão”.
